The mistake

The tracker's status field is being used as both the state machine and the display, so collapsing five states down to two doesn't just simplify the UI — it removes every intermediate value an order can hold. With nothing between 'Ordered' and 'Delivered', anything past the point of purchase falls through to the terminal state, so orders still sitting in the warehouse render as delivered. The tracker is reporting the last step it knows about rather than the step the order has actually reached.
