Privacy.
This is a comic archive. There are no accounts, no comments and no forms, so there is nothing here that asks you for your name.
The short version
Reading a comic on this site does not create an account, a profile or a mailing list entry, because none of those exist. What follows is the full list of the places a request for a page can still be seen.
What the site itself stores
Two things, both kept in your own browser's local storage, both readable only by this site, and neither of them sent anywhere:
sif-theme— whether you picked the light, dark or automatic colour theme, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit.sif-consent— your answer to the analytics question below, so you are only asked once.
Clearing site data in your browser removes both. Neither is a cookie, and neither travels with a request.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, Cloudflare receives the request itself — your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser's user agent string, and the time — and processes it to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack and abuse. This site's operator does not receive an identifiable copy of those logs.
Images
Every comic, the brand mark and the cast line-up are delivered from
Cloudinary (res.cloudinary.com). Loading a strip therefore makes a
request to Cloudinary, which sees the same kind of request data any image host
sees. No image on this site is a tracking pixel.
Analytics
Analytics on this site is off until you say otherwise. If it is enabled, the site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which strips people read.
Nothing is requested from Google until you accept the banner. Decline it, or
ignore it, and no Google script is loaded, no analytics cookies are set, and no
data about your visit is sent to Google. Accept it and Google Analytics sets
cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that give your browser a random identifier so
repeat visits are not counted as new people; it records the pages you view,
approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, and general device
and browser information. It does not receive your name or email, because this
site never asks for either.
You can change your mind at any time using the button at the end of this page. Google describes its own handling of this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Links away from here
The footer and the about page link to Instagram and X. Those are other companies' sites with their own privacy policies, and this policy stops at the link.
Children
Nothing here is directed at children, and the site does not knowingly collect information about them.
Who to ask
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 asks a site that handles personal data to say plainly who will answer questions about it. For everything described on this page, that is the person who runs Ships It Friday, at the address below. A question about what is collected, a request to withdraw the analytics consent, or a complaint about any of it all go to the same place, and all get a reply.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. The site is open about its own history: every version of this page is in the repository's commit log.
