Dev humour · production consequences
About the strip.
Bad deploys, worse decisions, and code that was confidently wrong. Made with coffee and questionable confidence.
What this is
Dev humour about the mistakes. Not the clever fixes — the mistakes. The migration that ran twice. The retry loop with no backoff. The one-line change that definitely could not break anything. The assistant that was cheerfully, confidently wrong. If you have done it, it gets drawn.
Why the name
Shipping to production on a Friday afternoon is the most reliably regretted decision in software. It is not a schedule — it is the genre, in three words. Every strip here is some version of the same idea.
Who makes it
Ships It Friday is made in the evenings by one person who has shipped on a Friday and regretted it. There is nothing to buy here and nothing to sign up for.

The cast.
Six recurring characters, drawn so each one reads from silhouette alone. Some of them make the mistakes. Some of them live in the wreckage. One of them causes them while trying to help.
- June Okonkwo — the dev · lives in the wreckage
- Dale Primm — the manager · turns them into process
- Russ Voss — the sysadmin · has seen this one before
- Ines Marchetti — the designer · finds them
- Toby Lim — the intern · makes them, at speed
- Pip — the AI assistant · causes them, while helping
