Only decoration
Ines took the little dot out of every price in the shop because it looked like clutter. The grey sofa then cost ninety thousand pounds, and one man bought it.
The mistake
The decimal point is removed from the shared price formatter as if it were styling, but it is part of the number: £900.00 renders as 90000. Checkout reads its amount from that formatted price instead of from the stored value, so the shop both shows and charges a hundred times the real price. The AI assistant's assurance that the dot is decorative goes live without anyone checking a single rendered price or test order.
