Four pounds fifty

The mistake

The gift card template is generated from the order's receipt record rather than from a dedicated gift-message template, so it inherits the receipt's line items and price fields. Nothing strips the monetary values before render, and the whole weekend's batch is sent to the printer without anyone reviewing a proof. The result is a personalised card that correctly prints the recipient's message and also prints what the sender paid.
