The mistake
The order form's quantity stepper is implemented with an increment control but no decrement control, and no maximum-quantity validation on the client or server. A user who taps '+' repeatedly has no way to correct the count downward short of abandoning and recreating the entire order, and nothing in the checkout flow rejects an implausibly large quantity before payment is captured.
