The hour that happened twice
Toby stripped UTC off the timestamps so the logs read like English. The clocks went back, and the nightly billing job ran twice through the repeated hour.
The mistake
Toby drops the UTC offset from every timestamp for readability. On the night the clocks go back, 01:30 occurs twice, and the billing guard — which compares a charge time to the last run time — can no longer tell the two apart.
